Design Philosophy and Materials
Our aim since the beginning has been to create beautiful jewellery that is also everlasting – both in style and quality. In this way, jewellery can be cherished for a lifetime and passed on to generations. With this in mind, the “Orchid” collection was born.
Our design philosophy embraces both uniqueness and timeless quality to maximize the life of our pieces. Our jewellery is handmade from recycled sterling silver and natural stones from trustworthy sources. Most often, you’ll find us using the traditional white diamond as our stone of choice. We love it for its strong symbolism, durability, and a bright sparkle. It’s beautiful, valuable, and always in style.
We design and handle our jewellery with utmost care and respect. Flawless attention to detail is in our DNA. We want to give you jewellery that will not only last in time and make a fashion statement but have sentimental value.
In order to create perfectly beautiful jewelry, each flower is carefully handpicked and every piece is hand-made from scratch in our studio. Just like flowers, no two “Orchid” jewelry are identical, making every piece of Aija Kivi Jewellery truly one-of-a-kind which holds a story. It helps you stand out for what you really are: rare, feminine, and beautiful. These visually engaging and elegant pieces will add a touch of luxury to everything you wear.
Being environmental-friendly is our mission from the beginning. We source from local suppliers whenever and wherever we can. All of our packaging materials are recyclable or bio-degradable. We use Woola packaging products which are made of waste wool and in the same country we are from – Estonia. Wool is naturally high-tech and compostable fiber. Its natural elasticity, water repellency, and resistance to temperature extremes make wool a perfect material for packing items that need extra cushioning. Around 90% of all wool produced in Estonia goes to waste. That is around 153 tonnes of waste wool per year that gets burned or buried. Let’s reduce the plastic waste of online shopping together.
The orchid is known as a symbol of beauty, love, elegance, and luxury. It’s of the most alluring and captivating flowers, exquisite in its perfect symmetry. During the Victorian era in England, orchids were only found in the tropics and were extremely rare because of that. Therefore, Victorians would collect exotic orchids as a sign of luxury and refined taste. It was a status symbol. Also, it was customary to gift exotic and rare flowers to show love and affection. When given as a gift, the more rare the orchid, the deeper your love was for the receiver. Orchids are considered symbols of love because of the fact that the plants grow easily, and bloom under most conditions. In ancient Japan, the flowers were treasured by royalty and were considered symbols of wealth.
The mystique surrounding orchids throughout history has positioned them at the top of luxurious gift lists, making them a thoughtful and exquisite gift for a loved one. Victorians were so mystified by the orchid’s irresistible beauty that they became a status symbol and were displayed like treasures in the home. Aija Kivi Jewellery aims to capture the same essence with the one-of-a-kind “Orchid” collection.
